Heart for the Arts
The Arts Achievement Award honors deep commitment and sustained contributions to the arts and cultural community in the Griffin area. It recognizes those who have shown leadership, vision, and commitment to the growth and support of the arts; provided financial or in-kind support to local arts organizations; or worked to keep area arts viable. Nominees may include individuals from non-profit or for-profit organizations.

Nomination Process:
Member groups may nominate up to three (3) individuals/organizations to be reviewed by the GAAA Awards Committee.
Criteria and Eligibility:
Nominations must be submitted using the GAAA Nomination form and may include supporting documentation, such as:
Up to four (4) documents (brochures, photos, news articles, etc.) that depict a nominee’s work and symbolizes the positive influence the nominee has had in fostering arts in the Griffin area.
Evidence of nominee’s leadership, vision, and commitment in advancing the arts in the Griffin area.
Description of nominee’s involvement and leadership in multiple arts organizations or initiatives.
Examples of nominee’s work to increase arts funding and resources, impact on arts education, or arts volunteer activities.
There is no residency requirement, but the majority of applicable activities of the nominee must be of benefit to organizations and programs in the Griffin/Spalding County area.
Number of service years/hours will be at the discretion of the Awards Committee and will be based on the value and impact of the nominee’s contributions to all aspects of arts in the Griffin/Spalding area.
Prior awardees are not eligible for this award.
